Our Wooden Play Farm Chicken Coop is a fully playable variety of the real thing. Here again, we must acknowledge the fact that glass marbles, (9/16" Yellow Chinese Checker size), are used as the Eggs the chickens lay for the purpose of playing with, so we must tell you we don't recommend this for ages 3 years old or younger. The glass marbles are positioned on a slight dip on the top of each Nest (Brown in color) and then the Chickens (Yellow) in color) are positioned on top of the Egg, which is on each Nest. As the Chicken is slid sideways, the Egg will drop down thru the nest into the Egg Collector Track. The front Roof section opens up and lays back on the other (rear) Roof section, and the front Wall section folds down (it has two support dowels to hold it level). When the Wall is up, it has a magnet to hold it into position. This Wooden Play Farm Series Chicken Coop holds hours of fun for young children to pretend being a Chicken or an Egg Farmer - as many of our relatives thought would be an easy money maker back in the 1930's and 40's. We all found out differently. The size is approximately 18" long, 14" wide, and 16" tall. The Wooden Chicken Coop is Yellow in color, with a Black Roof, Brown Nests, Green Egg Collector Tracks, Yellow Chickens, and Brown Ramps.
This piece of Play Furniture is one the more played with of our entire line of Furniture. As the kids would say, "This is the 'Funest' and 'Coolest' toy I have played with in a long time". Also, visit our Wooden Play Barn, (W-2000), which is a fully playable sized barn for young children to climb into, onto, and thru. It is built to take the abuse of an entire classroom day after day, or a nursery school, or day care center, or just plain old home, for the enjoyment of the whole family or all of the classmates. The Wooden Play Barn is Red in color with White trim and a Black roof. The Gable Roof opens up and each Roof section lays back on the next section. Once closed, the two top Gable Roof Sections do not touch each other, so if a small child's hand were there, it could not be pinched in between them. The size is approximately 2' wide, 3' long and 2' high.
